The answer is no. Some Stainless Steel has a “clear coat” aplied to it that can’t be fixed. It is kinda like your car – after painting it gets a clear coat to protect it. Hoe do youu tell? We can test it before we start the repair or you can contact the maker of the appliance and they may be able to tell you – that would save you a service call. For the most part – stoves do not have a clear coat although i have seen some that do on the control panel.
